Moving messages

Attention

You must have Read, Write and Delete permissions in order to move messages.

  1. Locate the relevant queue from which to move a message.
  2. From the Operations drop-down menu, select Move Messages.
    OR
    Browse the queue for messages by clicking on the queue icon next to the queue name, or by selecting View Messages from the queue's drop-down menu. Then select the messages to be moved and select Move Message(s) from the Generic Operations drop-down. To move an individual message, select Move Message from the Operations drop-down menu for that message.
  3. Select the Destination Queue from the list of available queues on the current Queue Manager.
  4. To move multiple messages, select the checkbox in the Select column alongside the relevant messages and then select Move Message from any of the selected messages' Operations drop-down menu (all the selected messages will be listed and displayed in the Message Index box (see below)).
  5. Define the available options as required for the Move Message(s) parameters.

  6. Click Move to move the messages. The Messages for Queue Summary view is displayed (messages moved are no longer displayed).
