Managing applications connections

The Application Connections object is a visual summary of current connections for IBM WebSphere MQ applications. These applications use the selected queue manager in their messaging activity.

Use the Summary View to take note of key descriptive parameters:

Summary view operations available from the Operations drop-down menu are: Stop, View Handles

To access the selected Application Connection's Properties Editor, click on the Connection ID.

Application Connections: Key Operations

The first item is Stop, which halts the targeted application connection.

Error

Use the Stop operation with care. As this actually terminates a connection, it may have an unpredictable impact on the connected application. View Handles drills down to the Handles Properties Editor, while Stop disables the handle itself.

The Properties Editor, accessed by clicking the Conn ID, describes not the handles but the application connection itself. This is Read-Only. Review the IBM WebSphere MQ application connections properties as indicated.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
