Managing bridges

An application can process messages and send them multiple times to the required destinations, which typically requires much application coding.

Bridges are used to create alternate paths to destinations. You create bridges between destinations so that messages sent to one bridged destination are delivered to all. Not only is one message sent to multiple destinations, it can be delivered to distinct destination types.

For example: an application may send messages to a queue for distributed load balancing, and send the same messages to several monitoring applications.

Select Bridges from the Navigation Panel to display the Summary View:

  • Copy As New Bridge: Copies the selected bridge. You can also create a new bridge, which is described in the Creating a new bridge section below.
  • Delete: Delete the bridge.
  • Audit: Lets you view the last related (10) audit log entries and access audit events related to the bridge, such as a record of changes made previously to the selected bridge.

Note

TrueSight Middleware Administrator denotes destination types as suffixes enclosing the destination type (Q=queue, T=topic) in brackets.
