Filtering services
To prioritize and quickly take action on impacted services, you can use different views and built-in filters to sort the services by name, service type, status, and priority.
The following table sections describes the filters you can use:
- To filter the services by service type
- To filter the services by status or priority
- To sort services by service name, service type, status or priority
To filter the services by service type
Use the quick filters to filter the services by service type. This is the top-level filter applied to the services on the Services page as shown in the preceding figure.
If you do not select any filters in the quick filters area , by default, All Services filter is applied to the Services page.
The number of tabs (filtering options) that appear in the quick filters areadepends on the number of CIs that are configured as services. If you have not configured any CI types as Services, then the following five filtering options are displayed by default:
- All Services: If you select this option, all the services are displayed on the Services page.
Top-Level Services: If you select this option, the top-level root node services that do not have parents are displayed.
- Business Services: If you select this option, the services of type Business Service and of sub-type BusinessService are displayed.
- Technical Services: If you select this option, the services of type Business Service and of sub-type TechnicalService are displayed.
- Unknown Services: If you select this option, the services of type Business Service and of sub-type Unknown are displayed.
The other tabs such as Activity, Application, Concrete Collection, Logical Entity, Media, etc. that are appearing in the preceding example are because the respective CI Types are configured as services.
To filter the services by status or priority
Use the quick filters to filter the services by service type. This is the second-level filter applied to the services on the Services page.
- On the Services page, click the action menu
and select the way you want to view the services: View by Priority and View by Status.
The services page view displays services based on the options you choose:- If you choose View by Priority, the services are displayed according to the priority of the services. There are five priority values indicated by different colors and icons:

- If you choose View by Status, the services are displayed according to the status of the services.

The service status depends on the highest severity of the underlying events. The service status is indicated by different colors and icons as described in the following table:

Unavailable (red) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is Critical. | |
Impacted (dark orange) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is Major. | |
Minor Impact(light orange) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is Minor. | |
Warning (yellow-orange) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is Warning. | |
Information (blue) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is Information. | |
OK (green) | The highest severity event of at least one of the underlying events is OK. | |

To view the services by priority
Choose View by Status , you can filter services by priority. Click one of the priority quick filter buttons
available in the row
. This filtering option allows you to view or hide services of that particular priority.

To sort services by service name, service type, status or priority
There is a secondary sort option on the services page to sort the services by name, services type, status or priority. Click the action menu to select a secondary sort for the services page. The following sorting options are available for services:
- Sort by Name: The services are sorted alphabetically by their names.
- Sort by Service Type: The services are sorted by service type: business service, technical service, and unknown.
- Sort by Status or Priority: If you have chosen, View by Status
, you can sort the services by priority. Similarly, if you have chosen, View by Priority, you can sort the services by status.
