Configuring Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk to connect to an AR System server group


Ensure that BMC CMDB Extensionsis installed on the Admin BMC Remedy AR System server. For information about installing Infrastructure Management CMDB Extensions, see Installing-the-BMC-CMDB-Extensions-to-enable-integration-with-BMC-Atrium-CMDB.

To configure Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk to connect to BMC Remedy AR System Server group

  1. Navigate to IBRSD_HOME/conf/.
  2. Open ibrsd. conf and modify the following parameters:
    • ARSServerName=loadBalancerName
    • ARSServerPortNum
    • ARSServerUserName
  3. Run the EncryptUtility utility as explained in Managing BMC Remedy AR System Server log on credentials
  4. Restart Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk.

Configuring Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk with the BMC Remedy AR System Server group

  1. Remove the AR Servers from the AR server group.
  2. Install CMDB Extensions (which installs the Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk- AR System module) on the primary and then the secondary AR Server host.
  3. Add the cell entry in the IBRSD.dir file of each AR Server and restart BMC Remedy AR System Server.
  4. Bring back the AR hosts in the Server group.
