Architecture of the VMware vCloud integration

The new cloud topology related integration with vCloud Director is effected through a component that consumes vCloud Director topology on the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. This component queries vCloud Director to retrieve data about the cloud resources and creates the same cloud resources in Infrastructure Management. After using the pw FullCloudOpsSupport -a VCLOUD command to integrate VMware vCloud Director with Infrastructure Management, perform the necessary configuration tasks, the cloud resources are displayed in the navigation tree of the operator console.

The following cloud resources are displayed:

  • Provider vDC
  • Organization vDC

Organization virtual datacenter

An organization virtual datacenter (organization vDC) is a container used to deploy VMware vApps. It is created using resources taken from a selected Provider vDC, and is a description of the way resources are allocated and used by a VMware vCloud Director Organization.
