BMC Impact Integration Web Services provides operations for web service clients to exchange events and data with cells.
BMC Impact Integration Web Services perform the following functions:
Send events to cells
Polling events propagated by cells
Query data and events from cells
Query class definitions from cells
Any integration of a non-BMC component, for example a ticketing instance, with Infrastructure Management can be realized via BMC Impact Integration Web Services.
One BMC Impact Integration Web Services server can interface with one or multiple cells, and vice versa. One cell can interface with one or multiple BMC Impact Integration Web Services servers.
Events propagated by cells to BMC Impact Integration Web Services server are stored locally. Events and data queried from cells are not stored locally.
BMC Impact Integration Web Services server communicates transparently with a High Availability (HA) pair. The BMC Impact Integration Web Services server itself has no HA features. However, HA can be achieved when an HA client pair only queries a HA cell pair.
