Viewing Integration Service and BMC PATROL Agent statuses

The Integration Service is responsible for delivering data to the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server for storage in the database. Integration Services are located on computers other than the computer hosting the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. BMC PATROL Agents are connected to the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server through the integration service.

The Agent Status page lists the current operating status of the Integration Services and the BMC PATROL Agents that are associated with them. The Agent Status screen also displays information about the monitors associated with the Integration Service.

Go to Options > Administration > Agent Status, and the Agent Status page is displayed. In the Agent Status page, you can filter the Integration Service and the agent details based on the filters. The supported filters are as follows:

  • Connection Active—Displays the Integration Service and its agents that are connected active with the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server
  • Agent Disconnected—Displays the Integration Service and its agents that are disconnected from the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server
  • No Filter—Displays all the Integration Services and their agents that are associated with the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server

You can also select to view the details of a specific Integration Service and the BMC PATROL Agents associated with it. To view a specific Integration Service or BMC PATROL Agent, in the Integration Service/Agent box, type the name of the Integration Service or agent, and click Filter. If you have specified an Integration Service name, the details of the Integration Service and the agents associated with it are displayed. If you have specified an agent name, the agent details as well as the Integration Service to which it is associated are displayed.

  • If the publish host name is different from the device FQDN, the self-monitoring events for the PATROL are associated with the device named after the published host name.
