Determining the probable cause for an event


You need to know the details of probable cause analysis and how to perform probable cause analysis on an event. Infrastructure Management gathers data from different sources and applies filter to rule out unrelated events. This data helps Infrastructure Management determine the most-likely causes of an event. The Probable Cause Analysis algorithm was enhanced in the TrueSight Presentation Server to improve the scoring of Key Performance Indicators as well as take into consideration data from across multiple TrueSight Infrastructure Management Servers. Therefore, to obtain the most accurate results, BMC recommends that you initiate the Probable Cause Analysis process from the TrueSight Presentation Server. For more information, see Performing probable cause analysis on an event in TrueSight Presentation Server.
