Supported upgrade paths

The following table lists the supported upgrade paths. 

Tip

When upgrading from an earlier release that requires phased upgrades, consider the benefits of migrating. For more information about the pros and cons of migrating, see Benefits-and-risks-to-upgrades-and-migrations.

You can directly upgrade to Infrastructure Management version 10.0 from BMC ProactiveNet 9.5.xx or 9.6.xx, or Infrastructure Management 9.6.xx. 

To upgrade BMC ProactiveNet 9.5.xx, 9.6.xx, or Infrastructure Management 9.6.xx to version 10.0, see one of the following options:

Note: Apply the latest service pack before upgrading to BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management 10.0.

Example: When upgrading from BMC ProactiveNet 9.5 to BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management 10.0, apply BMC ProactiveNet 9.5 Service Pack 1, and then upgrade to Infrastructure Management 10.0.

BMC ProactiveNet version 9.0.xx

Phased upgrade:

  1. Upgrade to BMC ProactiveNet version 9.5.xx, 9.6.xx, or Infrastructure Management 9.6.xx with the latest patch.
  2. Upgrade to Infrastructure Management version 10.0.

To upgrade BMC ProactiveNet 9.0.xx or 9.5.xx to version 9.6, see one of the following options:

 

To upgrade BMC ProactiveNet 9.5.xx, 9.6.xx, or Infrastructure Management 9.6.xx to version 10.0, see one of the following options:

 

BMC ProactiveNet 8.6.02.xx

Phased upgrade:

  1. Upgrade to BMC ProactiveNet version 9.5 with the latest patch.
  2. Upgrade to Infrastructure Management version 10.0.

To upgrade BMC ProactiveNet 8.6.02.xx or 9.0.xx to version 9.5, see one of the following options:

 

To upgrade BMC ProactiveNet 9.5.xx, 9.6.xx, or Infrastructure Management 9.6.xx to version 10.0, see one of the following options:

BMC ProactiveNet 8.5.xx

Phased upgrade:

  1. Upgrade to BMC ProactiveNet version 9.0 with the latest patch.
  2. Upgrade to BMC ProactiveNet version 9.5 with the latest patch.
  3. Upgrade to Infrastructure Management version 10.0.
