Preparing for upgrade

This section describes how to prepare for an upgrade to the Infrastructure Management product. The processes in this section are formulated to ensure the successful transfer of configuration settings and customization. They also aim to minimize event loss and protect the existing data. Therefore, before upgrading, review the following sections and plan the upgrade process:

  • Upgrade-process-overview — Review the sequence of tasks that you must perform to upgrade to Infrastructure Management version 10.0.
  • Prerequisites-for-upgrade — Determine the tasks that you must perform before you upgrade the product. Prerequisite tasks, such as backing up the database, must be performed before you upgrade the product.
  • Supported-upgrade-paths — Determine whether you can upgrade directly to the current version or if you must perform a phased upgrade from the earlier versions.
  • Phased-upgrades-from-earlier-versions — When your current version cannot upgrade directly to the latest version of Infrastructure Management, follow the guidelines in this topic to complete the upgrade process.
