Update installer does not start

When you run the Infrastructure Management Server installer, after the Infrastructure Management Server 10.0 is completed, the update 10.0.500 installer might not start. This happens if any of the Infrastructure Management services are not up and running after the Infrastructure Management Server 10.0 installation. The processes that are not in the running state are displayed in the command prompt.

To resolve this issue:

On Windows:

  1. Wait till all processes are up and running.
  2. Run the installer again. The installer automatically detects that the Infrastructure Management Server 10.0 is already installed and only runs the update 10.0.500 installer.

On Linux/Solaris:

  1. Run the pw-process-list command. This command might display that the mcell process is not running.
  2. Verify the mcell status by running the mcstat command:

    mcstat -n <cellName>

    • If the mcell process is running, run the update 10.0.500 installer available at the /TSIMServer/Disk1/INSTALL_FILES/TSIM_Update_10.0.500/Disk1 directory.
    • If the mcell is not running, fix the issues displayed in the mcell log, start the mcell command, and run the update 10.0.500 installer.
