Setting an alias name for the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server (Sybase)

On the DNS server, you must set an alias name for the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.

To set the alias name for the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server

On the DNS server, add an alias name for the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.

For example, set pronet as the alias name for the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.

If this server is part of a High Availability (HA) cluster, the host alias must resolve to cluster Virtual IP and Cluster Virtual Name.

Note

Ensure that the alias name resolves to the IP address of the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server and the IP address of the primary BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server resolves to the alias name. This can be performed using the nslookup command.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
