Event management CLI trace configuration

Event management CLI tracing is configured in one or more configuration files located in the installationDirectory/pw/server/etc directory. If a file with the same name as the CLI and with a .trace extension exists (for example, mcontrol.trace), that file is used for the tracing configuration. If such a file does not exist, the default file mclient.trace is used, instead. 

You can configure tracing for the event management CLIs the same way that tracing is configured for the cell. For information about cell tracing, see Configuring-cell-tracing.

To send full-level tracing output of the mquery CLI only to the installationDirectory/pw/server/log/mquery-log.txt file, in the installationDirectory/pw/server/ etc directory, create a file named mquery.log and add the following line to it:
ALL ALL %L/mquery-log.txt

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
