Discrete service models
A service model in which all the CIs are created on a single Infrastructure Management Server is called a discrete service model. The number of CIs in a discrete model is limited to the maximum number of CIs supported by Infrastructure Management. For information about the maximum number of CIs supported, see Performance-and-scalability-recommendations. If the number of CIs in the service model is within the limit supported by a single server, the service model must be present on a single Infrastructure Management Server. BMC recommends that discrete service models be deployed for optimal performance and scalability.
