Understanding a service model


A BMC service model is made up of the following components:

  • Data classes that describe the various types of physical and logical IT resources that make up an enterprise's business
  • Corresponding data classes in the Infrastructure Management knowledge base of cells
  • Event classes associated with specific resources
  • Configuration items (CIs) that represent the unique physical and the logical CIs that deliver business services
  • Impact relationships
  • Management data instances
