Generating a KeyStore and TrustStore

This topic provides information about creating a KeyStore and a TrustStore.

The security protocol used for encryption and decryption of communication between the Collection Station and the Collection Agent is Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). To create a Java KeyStore and a TrustStore follow the steps associated with the tool executable that you want to use for generating the Java KeyStore.

Recommendation

BMC recommends that you create a separate directory in the following location and copy the KeyStore to that directory.

  • Windows: %BMC_ITDA_HOME%
  • Linux: $BMC_ITDA_HOME
