Using the iDrac

Accessing the system using the iDrac involves ensuring that the iDrac has an IP address and then connecting to it remotely so that you can access the system CLI.

To access the system iDrac, you must configure an IP address for it.

By default, the iDrac tries to get an IP address using DHCP when it is installed in your data center and connected to your network using the iDrac port on the rear of the device. When an IP address is found, the LCD screen on the front of the device displays it.

Note

If your network does not support DHCP, you can manually configure the IP address of the iDrac using the buttons and menus displayed on the LCD screen. For more information about configuring the IP address of iDrac, see relevant documentation from Dell.
