Inspecting included Ethernet cables

comes with the following cables for you to use:

  • Four white standard Category 6 Ethernet cables for setting up traffic capture
  • One blue standard Category 6 Ethernet cable for managing the device

Inspecting network ports

The

has the following network ports on the front of the device:

  • Four capture ports dedicated to traffic capture.

    Note

    For 10 Gb traffic feeds, you must use a port that supports 10 Gb traffic.

  • One management port for managing the device, for example to perform initial configuration tasks via the CLI. You must also use this port to feed external devices which rely on system data.
  • One spare port which can be configured as either a traffic capture port or a management port using the sparenic command in the system CLI.

Preparing the system for users

Before using the system, you need to connect the
