Recommendations page in the OpenStack view


The Recommendations tab lists recommendations for OpenStack cloud infrastructure elements to help you prevent saturation and plan capacity expansion.

To access this page, in the TrueSight console, select Capacity > Views > Cloud > OpenStack and click the Recommendations tab.

The Recommendations view is split into the following sections:

  • Infrastructure 
  • Tenants

The following figure shows the Recommendations view page displaying the recommendations related information.

This tab contains the Infrastructure Recommendations table that displays the following information:

Recommendations table: Description of columns

Column

Description

Severity icon

Displays an icon depicting the type of recommendation severity.

Name

Name of the cloud entity over which the recommendation rule has been configured. Clicking on the cloud entity name takes you to the details page for the selected entity type. For example, if you click a cloud entity that is a cluster, you are redirected to the Cluster details under the vSphere Infrastructure View.

System

Name of the system for which the recommendation is generated.

Type

Displays the type of alert. For example, Forecasted saturation, Overallocated VMs and so on.

Description

Detailed description of the alert.

Recommended actions

Recommended remedial action to resolve the problem.

Viewing the Tenant Recommendations table

This tab contains the Tenant Recommendations table that displays the following information:

Column

Description

Name

Name of the tenant.

Type

Displays the type of alert.

Description

Detailed description of the alert.

Using data filters and other controls in tables

You can sort and filter the information that is displayed in tables to suit your need. For instance, you can export the data to Excel, select a different system type or cloud, clear the selected system type or cloud, and so on. You can also use severity filters, located at the top of the table as separate buttons, to display recommendations based on the severity.
