Exporting and filtering tables


All views under Views > All Views displayed in the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console contain tables that display metric and other information for each view category.

You can export, filter and classify the data displayed in each of these tables as per your requirement with the help of various data filters and controls. These controls are built-in with each view and enable you to customize the output and display of information.

To export a table

  1. Click the appropriate icon in the export_to.png control to export a table to any of the following file formats:

  2. You can choose to Open or Save the table.[format] file from the dialog box that pops-up.
    table is the default file name for the format you are exporting to.

To go back to the topic you were on, use your browser's Back button.

To filter domains

  1. Click domain_selector.png on the Domain Filter tab.
  2. Click on the plus.png sign on the all_domains.png control.
  3. Click the domain you want to filter on from the domain tree view that appears.
    Your current view is now refreshed, and displays details for the selected domain.

To go back to the topic you were on, use your browser's Back button.

To clear the current domain filter

  • Click clear_selection.png on the Domain Filter tab.
    Your table is refreshed, shows zero results, and a No domain selected label is displayed on the Domain Filter domain name box.

To search for a domain to filter on

  1. Click search_dom.png on the Domain Filter tab.
  2. Click on the search_area.pngbox.
    1. Type the first few characters of the domain name you want to search for.
    2. If the string you entered is found, a dynamic search results list appears.
  3. Click on the name of your domain from the search results list.
    Your table is refreshed, and displays details for the searched host.

To go back to the topic you were on, use your browser's Back button.

To show or hide columns in a table

You can use the show/hide cols control located towards the top right side of a table to add columns to, or remove columns from a table.

To do this:

  1. Click show/hide cols.
  2. Select or clear the check-box against the name of the column you want to show in, or hide from the table.
  3. Click Apply.
    The table is refreshed, and displays columns as per your selection.

To go back to the topic you were on, use your browser's Back button.

To filter individual columns in a table using filter operators

  1. Click the plus_operator.png sign located towards the bottom right side of the column header of the column you want to filter.
  2. Select your operator from the Operator list:

  3. Enter the filter value in the value box located next to the Operator list.
  4. Press Enter.
    • If you are filtering a size-based column, such as, Disk Space [GB], Unused Mem [GB], you will see a Size list next to the value box to make a unit of measure (KB, MB, GB) selection.
      In this scenario, you have the following choices to apply the filter:
      • Enter the filter value in the value box, select a unit of measure, and then click the funnel.png icon.
      • Enter the filter value in the value box, select a unit of measure, click on the value box again (to focus), and then press Enter.

        The table is now filtered according to the filter criteria you have specified.

To go back to the topic you were on, use your browser's Back button.

To clear the filter operator criteria from individual columns

  1. Click the minus_operator.png sign located towards the bottom right side of the column header of the column (or columns) you just applied the filter operator criterion on.

    The filter operator criteria is removed, the table is refreshed and reverts to default view.
Warning

Note

You can use the Clear sorting link located towards the bottom of each view to undo the current column header sort applied to a particular column.

The use of Clear sorting does not clear the filter operator criteria applied on columns.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
