Upgrading Remedy SSO in the standalone mode silently

Use this topic to upgrade Remedy SSO to the current version using the silent installer. The installer for Remedy SSO automatically creates a backup directory during the upgrade process. You can locate the backup files and folders at <TrueSightRSSO_Install_dir>\TrueSightRSSO11.0.00. 

The silent (or unattended) upgrade obtains the required user inputs from the tsso_silent.options file, which is bundled along with the installer. 

Warning

If upgrading from Remedy SSO 11.0 or 11.3.01...

If you have installed Remedy SSO 11.0 or 11.3.01 using the TrueSight Installer, upgrading to version 18.11 or later fails with exceptions. Do the following to avoid this issue:

  1. Log in to your Remedy SSO server and navigate to the <RemedySSO_INSTALL_DIR>/rsso/conf directory.
  2. Open the rssoproperties.conf file.
  3. Set the db.prepackage.type property to false.

  4. Upgrade Remedy SSO to version 18.11 or later. For details, see Upgrading Remedy Single Sign-On.

  5. After a successful upgrade, reset the db.prepackage.type property to true.

To upgrade Remedy SSO silently

  1. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  2. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  3. Ensure that the Remedy SSO service is up and running. For more information, see Starting-and-stopping-the-Remedy-SSO-and-Presentation-Server-components.
  4. If you have changed the database password of the earlier version of Remedy SSO, do the following:

  7. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  8. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.

  11. (Optional) If you have changed the Remedy SSO to the HTTP mode before upgrade, edit the web.xml file. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
  12. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.

  13. (Optional) If you have configured SAML authentication with your Remedy SSO enviornment, do the following:

    Reconfirgure the SAML authentication steps

    Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.

  14. Failed to execute the [excerpt-include] macro.
