Supported upgrade paths

The TrueSight Capacity Optimization installation program supports direct upgrades from the two most recent versions of the product. If you are running earlier versions of the product, you must perform at least one interim upgrade before you can upgrade to the latest version of TrueSight Capacity Optimization.

Refer to the following sections to view the supported upgrade paths for earlier versions of the product components:

Application Server and ETL Engine

The installation program for the Application Server and ETL Engine supports direct upgrades from the latest two versions of the product.

*  When performing a phased upgrade from TrueSight Capacity Optimization version 10.7 or 10.7.01, custom views that were created in those versions will not be available after the upgrade. If you want to continue using these custom views, you must create them in the TrueSight console before you upgrade.

View Migration Toolkit is available in the TrueSight Capacity Optimization community that might assist in migrating some of the custom views from the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console to the TrueSight console. This video explains how to migrate custom views using the View Migration Toolkit.

The View Migration Toolkit is provided “as is” on the Capacity Optimization community, outside the scope of product maintenance and BMC Support.

Gateway Server

Capacity Agent

The installation program for the TrueSight Capacity Optimization Capacity Agent supports direct upgrades from 10.3 or later versions of the product. If you are using a version earlier than 10.3 and you want to upgrade to the latest version, BMC recommends that you uninstall the Capacity Agent and then install the latest version.

You can continue to use an earlier version (10.3 -11.5) without upgrading to the latest version.

To collect data at a greater granularity (for example, every one second), upgrade to Capacity Agent 11.3.01 or later.
