Post-upgrade tasks for TrueSight Capacity Optimization
Where you are in the Upgrade process
Complete the following post-upgrade activities:
- Check for a feature pack or fix pack.
- Verify the Capacity Optimization product registration with the Presentation Server.
- Upgrade additional packages.
Check for a feature pack or fix pack
BMC releases periodic product updates through feature packs and fix packs.
Review the Release-notes-and-notices section for any new feature pack or fix pack and apply it relevant to your environment.
Verify the Capacity Optimization product registration with the Presentation Server
After you upgradeTrueSight Capacity Optimization, you must review whether the TrueSight Capacity Optimization product is still connected with the Presentation Server.
- In the TrueSight console, click Administration > Components.
- In the Components page, check whether the Capacity Optimization component is displayed as connected.
If the component displays error, remove the component and add it again.
- In the Components page, select the action menu
next to Components, and select Add Component.
- For Component Type, select Capacity Optimization.
Enter the Host name of the Application Server component of TrueSight Capacity Optimization . In case of multiple Application Servers, enter the host name of the Application Server that runs the Data Hub.
- Select the Protocol as HTTPS or HTTP. The default is HTTPS.
Accept the Port default value (8280 for Data Hub or 8380 for Service Container).
- Accept * as the default tenant, or select any of the listed tenants. The list includes each tenant defined in the Remedy Single Sign-On system.
Click Save.
The Capacity Optimization component is added and is listed in the Components page.
Upgrade additional packages
You must upgrade all installed additional packages (capacity views and other installed packages) after registering the Capacity Optimization product with the TrueSight Presentation Server. Also, you can upgrade a customized out-of-the-box view to go back to the original, default settings.
If you want to upgrade the Storage, Network, or Hadoop views, you need to upload the new view package file. For more information, see Installing capacity views.
Ensure that any changes made to the out-of-the-box view that you want to upgrade are saved. Failing to do so, after the upgrade, the changes will be lost and the view will return to its default settings. For more information, see Exporting-and-importing-views.
- In the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click Administration > System > Maintenance.
The Maintenance page is displayed, with the Additional Packages tab selected. In the Additional Packages table, for the package that you want to upgrade, click
.
The Status column displays RUNNING until the view upgrade is in process. After the upgrade completes, the Status column displays INSTALLED.
The upgraded views appear under the Views tab. These views are owned by the admin user, and to grant access to other users, the admin user must edit each view and associate it with one or more access groups.
