Enhanced Kubernetes Prometheus ETL

The Moviri Integrator for TrueSight Capacity Optimization – k8s (Kubernetes) Prometheus ETL is enhanced to include the following updates:

  • Support for the recovery mode
  • Modified RESTART_COUNT metric that now shows an incremental value instead of cumulative

Enhanced Kubernetes view

The Kubernetes-view is enhanced to include the following updates:

  • Support to simultaneously use the page and column filter
  • The TOTAL_FS_USED metric for the namespace, controller, and pod workload

Enhanced NetApp Systems view

The Aggregates-page-in-the-NetApp-Systems-view page in the NetApp Systems view now displays the total committed capacity (in Terabytes) to the NetApp volumes in aggregate.

    • The MAINTENANCE_NODE metric for nodes
  • Added the lag hour configuration to prevent data extraction for a specified interval

  • Configuration metrics: BYIFCLASS_CLASS_NAME, BYIFCLASS_CLASS_EXTENDED_NAME, BYIFCLASS_DESCRIPTION, BYIFCLASS_POLICYMAP_DIRECTION, BYIFCLASS_POLICYMAP_ID, and BYIFCLASS_IF_NAME
  • Performance metric: BYIFCLASS_DROP_PKT for QOS

Added support to:

  • Set the polling period for Bosh and Application
  • Filter the virtual machines on the supported deployment during the polling phase

Added support to use:

  • The service system tag for service workload
  • The disk path as a sub-object name for the BYFS_* metrics on hosts

Added the Maintenance Node column to the Clusters, Nodes, CPU, and Memory pages.

The following ETL modules are enhanced to support new features and additional metrics:

  • Namespace and cluster: ST_LIMIT_MAX and ST_REQUEST_MAX
  • Pod workload: HEAPMEM_USED, HEAPMEM_COMMITTED, HEAPMEM_FREE, NONHEAPMEM_USED, NONHEAPMEM_COMMITTED, NONHEAPMEM_FREE, and GC_EVENTS, GC_TIME
    These metrics are available only when the jvm-exporter is used.
  • Clusters and nodes: MEM_REQUST_ALLOCATABLE and CPU_REQUEST_ALLOCATABLE
  • Support to filter applications by using organization names
  • Default polling interval is changed to one minute

Added the Memory Request vs Allocatable and CPU Request vs Allocatable columns in the Clusters Capacity and Nodes Capacity tables.

ETL module enhancement

The Moviri-Integrator-for-TrueSight-Capacity-Optimization-Pivotal-Cloud-Foundry is enhanced to import data of virtual machines in the isolation segment that is under the Bosh infrastructure.

Downloading and installing the updates

To access the EPD website, you must provide your BMC Support credentials. You must be licensed for the product to access the download page. You may be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

Use the EPD links in the following sections to access the installation files on the EPD website. From the EPD page, go to Patches tab, and download the installation files for your platform.
