Uninstalling the Application Server and the ETL Engine
You can uninstall the Application Server and the ETL Engine by using the uninstallation wizard or silently.
To uninstall using the wizard
- Log in to the computer from where you want to uninstall the Application Server and the ETL Engine.
- Switch to the TrueSight Capacity Optimization system user.
- Set the DISPLAY environment variable.
- Change to the UninstallBMCBCO folder in the installation directory. The default directory is /opt/bmc/BCO.
- Run the command: ./uninstall.sh
- On the Welcome page, click Next.
- Select the components that you want to uninstall, and click Next.
When you choose to uninstall the Database Schema, an additional screen is displayed to confirm the uninstallation. - (If uninstalling Database Schema) Select one of the following options, and click Next:
- Uninstall software but do not delete database schema and content: Uninstalls only the software without deleting the database schema. This is the default option. If required, you can manually delete the database schema later.
- Uninstall software, and delete database schema and content: Uninstalls the software and deletes the database schema.
If you select this option, do the following:- Type ERASE in the text box that is displayed.
An additional screen to enter the database administrator credentials in order to delete the database schema is displayed. - Enter privileged user name (example: sys) and password, and click Next.
- Type ERASE in the text box that is displayed.
- Review your selection, and click Uninstall.
A confirmation message about successful uninstallation is displayed. - Click Done to exit the uninstallation program.
To uninstall silently
- Log in to the computer from where you want to uninstall the Application Server and the ETL Engine.
- Create a directory for the uninstallation options file.
- Navigate to the UninstallBMCBCO folder in the installation directory. The default directory is /opt/bmc/BCO.
- Copy the BCO_UNINSTALL.txt file to the directory that you created in Step 2.
- In a command line, change to the UninstallBMCBCO folder in the installation directory.
Run the following command:
./uninstall.sh -i silent -DOPTIONS_FILE=<fileLocationPath>/BCO_UNINSTALL.txt
The variable <fileLocationPath> represents the location where you saved the options file. If the path contains spaces, enclose the path and options file name in quotation marks.
Manually deleting the database schema
- Log in as the Oracle database administrator. Example: sys.
- Stop all the TrueSight Capacity Optimization services on all the computers where the Application Server and ETL Engine are installed.
- On the first computer where the Database Schema is installed, browse to the folder where Capacity Optimization is installed ($BCO_HOME) and run the drop.sql script. This script contains the default user names and tablespaces. If you had customized them, modify the script before running.
