UNIX frame metrics

The following frame-related metric groups are available for the UNIX system:

These metric groups are only collected if the partition has been configured to connect to the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) and enabled to collect HMC statistical information.

HMC Configuration

The following table describes the HMC Configuration metric group.

The HMC Configuration metric group is only collected if the partition has been configured to connect to the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) and enabled to collect HMC statistical information.

Using configure_frame_statsscript, you can configure the HMC.

The configure_frame_stats script is in the same directory as all of our other scripts: $BEST1_HOME/bgs/scripts. It also has a help message:

$ ./configure_frame_stats -h

This script is designed to help ease the complexity of configuring an OpenSSH client to talk to the HMC using keyed encryption passwords to enable frame level statistics.

Physical Partition Statistics

The following table describes the Physical Partition Statistics metric group.

The Physical Partition Statistics metric group is only collected if the partition has been configured to connect to the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) and enables collecting HMC statistical information.

Pool Statistics

The Pool Statistics metric group is only collected if the partition has been configured to connect to the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC). This group is collected by default from BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Agent version 9.0 upwards.

Processor Pool Statistics

The Processor Pool Statistics metric group is only collected if the partition has been configured to connect to the IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC). This group is collected by default from BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Agent version 9.0 upwards.
