Saving a copy of an Integration Studio project

You can store a copy of an Integration Studio project that contains your custom parser or extractor module code in a secure location, even if it is under development. The Capacity Optimization ETL Repository is a folder in the TrueSight Capacity Optimization Application Server that serves as a central repository to store the code. You can share this code and also use it for backup purposes.

To store an Integration Studio project, you must upload it to the Capacity Optimization ETL Repository from the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Repository view of the Integration Studio.

To upload a project to the Capacity Optimization ETL Repository

You can save a copy of your project by uploading it to the Capacity Optimization Repository. To upload your project, perform the following task:

  1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Repository view of the Integration Studio, click the Upload new project upload_icon.png icon in the view.

    You must add the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Repository view to the Integration Studio, if not already added. For more information, see To add the Capacity Optimization Repository view to the Integration Studio.

  2. In the Upload Capacity Optimization ETL project selection dialog box, select your project from the tree view, and click OK.
  3. In the Description dialog box that is displayed, enter an additional description (optional) for your project and click OK.

The project is now displayed in the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Repository view with an automatically assigned Project ID (displayed in square brackets). This Project ID will also be displayed in the Package Explorer view to show that your local project is now being shared in the repository. All modules in the project are copied into the repository and are available for download.

Note

The synchronization of the uploaded project is manual, and therefore, after it undergoes significant modification, you should once again upload the project to the repository.

To download a project from the Capacity Optimization ETL Repository 

  1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization Repository view of the Integration Studio, right-click the icon placed before the name of the selected project in the view.
  2. Select Download project.
  3. In the Download project dialog box, select the download location (by default it is the current workspace).
  4. Click OK to start the download.

When the download is complete, a copy of the project is saved to your local disk and opened in the Package Explorer view.

Note

The Capacity Optimization repository is local to your TrueSight Capacity Optimization installation. Code present in this repository is shared only with users who have authorized credentials to access the TrueSight Capacity Optimization platform, database, and development environment.

 

To add the Capacity Optimization Repository view to the Integration Studio

  1. From the Integration Studio menu, select Window > Show View > Other.

  2. From the Show View dialog box, expand the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization ETL node in the tree view, and select Capacity Optimization Repository.
  3. Click OK to add the selected view to the Integration Studio API.

The Capacity Optimization Repository view is now displayed in the left pane of your Integration Studio API, below the Package Explorer view.
