Configuring the VMware Automated Reconciliation task


The VMware Automated Reconciliation task performs the following activities:

  • Identifies the suspected duplicates of vCenter systems in an entity catalog that is shared by vCenter ETLs
  • Identifies the suspected VM clones within the same ETL
  • Reconciles the vCenter duplicates that are marked for reconciliation

This task automatically runs at the scheduled execution time. By default, the VMware Automated Reconciliation task is scheduled to be run daily. You can configure the schedule to automatically run this task according to your requirement. In addition, you can manually run the VMware Automated Reconciliation task in any one of the following ways:

  • Manually run this task from the Administration > ETL & SYSTEM TASKS > System tasks. For more information, see Run configuration.
  • Run reconciliation to execute this task from the Suspected duplicate systems page or Suspected cloned systems page. For more information, see Run reconciliation.

When this task detects suspected duplicates or clones, the BCO_TASK_WARN305 is displayed in the Administration > SYSTEM > Diagnostic alerts. For more details, see Viewing-diagnostic-alerts and Error-codes.

To configure a VMware Automated Reconciliation task

  1. Select Administration > ETL & SYSTEM TASKS > System tasks.
    The System tasks page lists all the system tasks that have been added.
  2. In the System tasks table, in the Name column, click VMware Automated Reconciliation task.
    The VMware Automated Reconciliation task page is displayed.

    Tip

    Click plus.png in the Type column, type VMware automated reconciliation in the Type field and then click log filter.png to display the VMware automated reconciliation task.

  3. In the Run configurations table, from the Name column, select the configuration you want to edit and click edit.png.
    The Edit run configuration<namepage opens.
  4. Edit the properties in each tab as described below:

    Note

    Properties marked with a '🔵️' are available only in the Advanced mode. To access the Advanced mode, click the Advanced button at the bottom-right of the Edit run configuration<name> page.


  5. Click Save.
