Enabling Windows shares mounting
This topic describes how to enable the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization application server to mount Windows shares.
To enable the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization application server to mount Windows shares
- Verify that the commands mount and sudo are installed on the system.
- Grant the ETL user (usually cpit) permission to run the mount command via sudo by configuring it in /etc/sudoers.
Comment out the following configuration line:
Defaults requirettyChange it to:
#Defaults requiretty
The following is an example of the configuration:
cpit ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
You can configure sudoers to restrict the commands available to the ETL user. For example:
cpit <localBMCCapacityOptimizationHost> = (root) NOPASSWD:/bin/mount, /bin/umount
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
