Adding external database connections

You must create a new external DB connection to connect to any of the external databases. You can use this connection while configuring the ETL.

The communication channel between the TrueSight Capacity Optimization components and the external databases can be in TCP or TLS 1.2 mode.

Out-of-the-box-ETLs

  1. Click Administration > ETL & SYSTEM TASKS > External DB connections
  2. Click add1.pngAdd connection. The External DB connections page is displayed.

  3. Type the following details:

    Note

    Basic properties are displayed by default in the External DB connections page. These are the most common properties that you can set.

    Note

    To view or configure Advanced properties, click Advanced. You do not need to set or modify these properties unless you want to change the way the connection works. These properties are for advanced users and scenarios only.

  4. Click Save.

    Additional info

    You can edit the connection using editoption.png. You can delete a connection using delete.png.

 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
