Checking the status of the product components and backend services

Use the Status page in the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console to check the status of the product components, sub-components, and backend services. In case of an error or warning, you can use this page to access the component logs to analyze the issue and take the necessary corrective action.

You can check the status of the following product components:

  • TrueSight Presentation Server
  • Application Server and its sub-components: Primary Scheduler, Data Hub, Web Server, Service Container, Dynservices. And, backend services under the Data Hub and Service Containers.
  • ETL Engine
  • Gateway Server
  • TrueSight Smart Reporting (when integrated with Smart Reporting)

To access the Status page, in the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click Administration > System > Status. The Status page displays the components, sub-components, and services as rectangular boxes per host.

From this page, you can achieve the following goals:

  • Easily identify the product components or services that have failed or are running with an issue.
  • Check the status of the product components, sub-components, and backend services.
  • Inspect a specific product component or service.

Check the status of the product components, sub-components, and backend services

The statement on top of the Status page indicates when the status was last checked. Each component box is color-coded to indicate its status. Review the color on each component to determine whether it is failed (Red), has a warning (Yellow), is running without any issues (Green), or is disabled (Grey). The Service Container component is disabled by default.

Host that has at least one component with an error (Red box) is shown on top of the page, followed by the host that has at least one component with a warning (Yellow box).

If the top-most host on the page shows all components in Green, it indicates that all components under all hosts are running without any issues. So you can skip scrolling down the page to check the status of other components.

In the following sample screenshot, the TrueSight Presentation Server and Generic Service Container component boxes are Red indicating an error; all other components are running without an issue.
