App Visibility Manager Hotfix 1 to fix issues after applying Hotfix 8 or later to the Presentation Server

Applying the TrueSight Presentation Server Hotfix version 11.3.01.000.008 (Hotfix 8) or later on a Presentation Server connected to an App Visibility Manager server on version 11.3.01 (without any Service Packs or Hotfixes applied) could cause one or more of the following issues:

• App Visibility events are not closed properly.
• Users are not be able to configure and view Synthetic applications, Execution Plans, and Synthetic Health tab in the TrueSight console.

To resolve these issues, you must apply App Visibility Manager Hotfix 1 on App Visibility Manager 11.3.01.

To determine the Hotfix version of the Presentation Server

From the Presentation Server command line, run the tssh properties list command.

The list of all Presentation Server versions are displayed and at the bottom of the list the Hotfix number is displayed.

If the Hotfix version displayed is 11.3.01.000.008 or later, you must apply the App Visibility Manager 11.3.01 Hotfix 1 to resolve these issues.  Use the steps in the following section to apply the Hotfix 1 to App Visibility 11.3.01.

Note: The App Visibility Manager consists of the App Visibility Portal, App Visibility Collector, and App Visibility Proxy and you must apply this Hotfix on all the components.

Applying Hotfix version 1 on App Visibility version 11.3.01

1. Create a backup of the App Visibility Manager servers. For more information, see Backing up and recovering the App Visibility database.

2. Download the App Visibility Manager 11.3.01 from the following location:
   ftp.bmc.com/pub/tss/11.3/AVM/AD_Server_11.3.01.000.001.zip
3. From the AD_Server_11.3.01.000.001.zip file, extract the contents to a temporary folder.
4. From the extracted folder, review the App_Visibility_Server_11_3_01_000_001_(HF001)_readme.txt file for the installation instructions.
5. Follow the installation instructions to apply the Hotfix on each App Visibility Portal, App Visibility Collector, and App Visibility Proxy component.
