Viewing the details of an application
You can drill-down to any application from the Applications page and view details of that application.
To view the details of an application
- In the TrueSight console, click Monitoring > Applications.
- To view the application details on the Application Monitoring page, use one of the following methods:
- Click an application name.
- Right click an application and select Open link in new tab
- Right click an application and select Open link in new window
The Application Monitoring page contains the details and information described in the following table.
Page section | Description |
---|---|
Application Monitoring action menu | Select Save as Preference to set the selected tab (Synthetic Health, Application View, Model, Events, Devices, or Services) as the default tab when you open the Application Monitoring page. |
Application summary | |
Synthetic Health tab | (Synthetic Monitor) For applications with synthetic transaction monitoring enabled, you can investigate the status of the synthetic transaction executions to identify and diagnose application issues. If synthetic monitoring is enabled for a manually created application, the Synthetic Health tab opens by default. For information about synthetic health, see Investigating-application-issues-reported-by-synthetic-health-events . |
Application View tab | (App Visibility Manager) For applications that are automatically discovered, and manual applications with synthetic transaction monitoring, you can investigate problems with application performance and availability and drill down to application diagnostics. If the application is automatically generated, the Application View tab opens by default. Note: Close an Application Management server event only from the Applications View tab. Closing an App Visibility event from the events tab results in a mismatch between the number of Open Events (under Application Summary section) and the displayed events list. When you close the App Visibility events from the events tab, the events get closed only in the console view and not from the Application Management server. For information about the Application View, see Investigating-severity-and-impact-of-application-issues. |
Model tab | Examine your network's application models to pinpoint the exact impact area in an application and drill down to each node and find its status. If the application is manually created and synthetic monitoring is not enabled, the Model tab opens by default For information about application models, see Viewing-an-application-model. |
Events tab | (Infrastructure Management) Examine all the events associated with the application as a snapshot of the Events view. For information about events, see Monitoring and managing events from the TrueSight console. |
Devices tab | (Infrastructure Management) Examine all the devices associated with the application as a snapshot of the Devices view. For information about devices, see Monitoring devices from the TrueSight console. |
tab | (Infrastructure Management) Examine all the services associated with the application as a snapshot of the Services view. You can associate an application to a service. For information about services, see Monitoring services from the TrueSight console. |
