Diagnosing application problems


This topic presents a process overview for accessing the diagnostics data of applications that are monitored by the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent. You can examine transaction traces where a latency violation or an error occurs.

  1. In a supported browser, enter the URL of the computer on which the BMC Application Management Console is installed.
  2. Enter your name and password to log on to the BMC Application Management Console.
  3. Examine an overview of application performance on the Application Monitoring tab, Application View menu. See Monitoring-application-health-and-performance.
  4. Drill down to the Diagnostics tab and examine the component diagnostics you want to analyze: Business Transactions or Application Servers.
  5. To view captured traces, drill down to a specific transaction trace.
  6. Developers or application support personnel can examine method call stack.
