Locating root cause by opening a single session for analysis


To find the root cause of a problem, you analyze individual sessions affected by this problem. For example, when a customer in a certain location has trouble viewing a certain page of your application, you would analyze this particular session rather than find common errors in many sessions.

To open a particular session

  1. On the Performance Analytics page of the BMC Application Management Console, run a query.
  2. In the Summary section, click the number of retrieved sessions.
  3. In the list of sessions matching the query, locate the session that you want to investigate.
  4. Open the session by performing one of the following actions:
    • Click the name of the session.
    • From the Action menu for the session, select Open.

The Session Overview pane displays details about the session.
