Verifying TEA Agent installation

You can verify that the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agent installation was successful by reviewing the log files created during the installation, and examining server processes and services.

Before you begin

You must have installed the TEA Agent as described in Performing-the-TEA-Agent-installation (or silently).

To verify that the TEA Agent installation was successful

  1. Using Windows Administration Tools to view local services, ensure that the service for the BMC TEA Agent is running.
If the service is not running, check in the BMCTEAAgent_install_log.txt file (located in the %temp% directory) for warnings or errors.
  2. Log on to the BMC Application Management Console with Administrator-level access, or higher.
  3. Click the Synthetic tab, and on the navigation menu, click TEA Agents.
Ensure that your installed Agent is listed in the table. The Agent status is Inactive until the system receives the first heartbeat (up to 30 seconds).
