Verifying the BMC Real End User Monitoring and Console installation

You can verify that a component instance was installed successfully via a ping command, using the IP address of the instance's management port as the target.

Example

In this example, the IP address of the component instance's management port is 10.160.1.243.

C:\>ping 10.160.1.243

Pinging 10.160.1.243 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.160.1.243: bytes=32 time=172ms TTL=55
Reply from 10.160.1.243: bytes=32 time=165ms TTL=55
Reply from 10.160.1.243: bytes=32 time=164ms TTL=55
Reply from 10.160.1.243: bytes=32 time=163ms TTL=55

Ping statistics for 10.160.1.243:
   Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
   Minimum = 163ms, Maximum = 172ms, Average = 166ms

The instance replied, suggesting that it was installed successfully.

Note

The example above displays the usage of IPv4 notation, however, IPv6 notation has been implemented and can also be used.
