Stopping and deleting a synthetic TEA Agent
You can manage some of the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agent activity and appearance in the BMC Application Management Console.
Stopping an active synthetic TEA Agent
You can stop an agent so that you can troubleshoot issues or to decommission it, without logging on to the agent computer. From the Console, you can stop an active TEA Agent that is running as a service or as a process.
To stop a TEA Agent from the Console
- In the Console, click the Synthetic tab, then click TEA Agents.
- (Optional) From the Status column, select Active.
- From the shortcut menu of the active agent that you want to stop, select Stop TEA Agent.
- Click OK to confirm that you want to stop the agent.
If you want to restart the agent, you must log on to the computer with the TEA Agent, and then start it as a service through the operating system tools, or start the agent as a process.
Deleting a stale synthetic TEA Agent
If a TEA Agent is no longer in use, you can delete it from the list of agents after it reaches the stale status. If a TEA Agent sends a heartbeat after you delete it from the Console, the Agent registers with a new Agent ID.
To delete a TEA Agent from the Console
- In the Console, click the Synthetic tab, then click TEA Agents.
- (Optional) From the Status column, select Stale.
