Establishing a DNS identity for an Analyzer or Collector
The Real User Analyzer, Real User Collector, or Real User Monitor components are a network appliance. To interoperate with external network appliances that use host names instead of IP addresses, such as time servers, SMTP servers, or SNMP servers, you must set up a domain name system (DNS) client for a component.
To configuring the network identity settings for the BMC Application Management Console, see Establishing a DNS identity for the BMC Application Management Console .
Configuring DNS client settings for an Analyzer or a Collector component includes the following procedures:
- (Optional) Specifying-a-name-for-an-Analyzer-or-a-Collector
- (Optional) Specifying-a-host-name-or-virtual-IP-for-an-Analyzer-or-a-Collector
- Specifying a DNS server for the device to use
- (Optional) Specifying-a-domain-name-suffix-for-an-Analyzer
