BMC Application Management Console interface
The browser-based BMC Application Management Console (Console) is the primary user interface for the product and provides access to most of its features and functions. The following sections describe the navigation options used to navigate the Console, pictured below.

Common elements
The following elements, which are displayed in the upper right corner of the UI, are present at all times.
- User name of the current user that you can click to open the User Settings page. This page contains your account settings (user name, role, and authentication method). You can use this page to change your password or update your email address.
- Logout link to end a session.
- Help link that opens the Documentation portal in a secondary browser window.
Console tabs
Tabs display the main feature areas of the product and enable you to move among product features. Clicking a tab displays the features and options associated with the selected tab.

Menus
On each tab, menus display the elements of the Console or plug-in. Menus, similar to the one in the following example, can cascade to provide additional commands related to the selected command.

Buttons
Click the following buttons to navigate the interface, display commands on Action menus and shortcut menus, and access any page's Help file.

| If all the panels within a carousel are not visible within your browser window, use the Scroll button to pan left and right. |
| When you place the pointer over the Action menu button, it displays the action options available as menu commands on the current page. The example shows the options for the Administration page. |
| Shortcut menus are associated to the list of accounts on the Accounts page or the list of components on the Configuration page. |
Handles
Handles enable you to drag and drop elements to a new position.

Switches
Depending on your role, you can use switches to enable or disable an element.
Switch state | Description |
---|---|
| Indicates that the element is enabled. You can click the switch to disable the element. |
| Indicates that the element is disabled. You can click the switch to enable the element. |
| Indicates that the element is enabled; however, your user role does not permit you to click or change the switch setting. |
Disabled and unavailable switch | Indicates that the element is disabled; however, your user role does not permit you to click or change the switch setting. |

Carousels contain multiple panels that you scroll through horizontally, as shown in the following example:

Pagination control
This control appears on pages that contain lists. By default, each list contains 20 items.

Launch points are available on the Home tab and enable you to quickly access an Analyzer.
