Patch available for BMC TEA Agent Boolean attribute error (SM-934)

This patch addresses the bug discovered in the BMC TEA Agent. A flaw was found that causes all Boolean project attributes to be treated as false when running the script(s) regardless of whether they are set to true in the execution plan configuration. 

 To download the patch 

1. Create a directory in which to place the downloaded file.

   Note

   Ensure that the directory is only one level into the directory structure. The EPD package creates a directory in the temporary directory when you extract the files, and the directory that contains the installation image must not be in a directory deeper than two levels into the directory structure.

2. Go to http://www.bmc.com/available/epd.html.

3. At the logon prompt, enter your user ID and password, and click Submit.
4. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, accept the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
5. Verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose. If necessary, use the Profile list to select a different profile.

6. From the Component View (the default view), in the Filter Products text box under Products, type part or all of the product name (Borland Silk Performer Synthetic Transaction Monitoring) and press Enter, or click Go.  

   Note

   Only the product components entitled for the licenses you own will be displayed.

7. In the pop-up window, select version 2.6.10, platform All Platforms, and click Go.
8. Click the Patches tab.
9. Select BMC Transaction Execution Adapter Agent version 2.6.10.001.
10. Click on the filename to download the file, and save the file in the directory that you created in step 1.

Applying the patch

You can install this patch using a wizard or using a silent installation.

To install the patch using a wizard

1. Extract all files from the zip file.
2. Go to the TEA-Agent-Windows-2.6.10.1\Disk1 folder, and run setup.exe.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

To install the patch silently

1. Extract all files from the zip file.
2. Do one of the following:

  • If you are installing the patch on a version 2.6.00 TEA Agent, enter the relevant details in the TEAAgent-silent-option-upgrade.txt file, and run the following command:

    setup.exe -i silent -DOPTIONS_FILE="<filePath>\TEAAgent-silent-option-upgrade.txt"

  • If you are installing the patch on a version 2.6.10 TEA Agent, enter the relevant details in the TEAAgent-silent-option.txt file, and run the following command:

    setup.exe -i silent -DOPTIONS_FILE="<filePath>\TEAAgent-silent-option.txt"

    Note

    If you are installing the patch on a version 2.6.10 TEA Agent, you must make sure that the values you enter for installLocation and tea_service_name match the existing values of your TEA Agent installation.
