Embedding a dashboard in a third-party application

You can use the contents of dashboards and dashlets outside the system, for example, embed it in third-party web applications.

The contents of shared dashboards and dashlets is available to any users, disregarding the BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring permissions. However, dashboard and dashlets that are requested by the shared URL, do not support drill-downs.

Note

The sharing feature is not available for the Web-page-dashlet and the system dashlets (What's new and Using dashboards on the Analyzer).

To share a dashboard or a dashlet from the Console

  1. In BMC Application Management Console, click Application Monitoring, point to Dashboards, and click the dashboard that you want to share.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • In the Action menu, select Share Dashboard.
    • In a dashlet pane, point to the arrow button.png in the upper-right corner and select Share dashlet.
  3. Copy the URL that appears in the window and share it with the interested person (or embed it in the target application).

Tip

To ensure dashboards or dashlets are displayed properly when embedded in third-party web applications, make sure your web server supports self-signed server certificates from BMC Application Diagnostics.

To share a dashboard or a dashlet from the Analyzer

  1. In Real User Analyzer, go to the Dashboards page.
  2. Click the dashboard that you want to share.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To share a dashboard, click Share in the shortcut menu of the dashboard tab.
    • To share a dashlet, click Share in the shortcut menu of the dashlet.
  4. Specify the parameters of sharing:
    • Allow drilldown – permits drilling down to Session Browser on the Analyzer component from the shared dashboard
    • Show logs – permits log viewing for the shared dashboard
  5. Copy the URL that appears in the window and share it with the interested persons (or embed it in the target application).

Tip

To ensure dashboards or dashlets are displayed properly when embedded in third-party web applications, make sure your web server supports self-signed server certificates from BMC Real End User Experience Monitoring.
