Importing the SAP BusinessObjects universe and Extended Reports


Perform the following steps to import a Lifecycle Management Business Intelligence ARchive (LCMBIAR) file into SAP BusinessObjects. This process generates the BO universe and Extended Reports.

  1. On the SAP BusinessObjects server, extract EUEM_ER_BO_Reports-2.6.00.zip to a local directory. You can obtain this file from the Aggregation Service OVF .zip file that you downloaded from EPD.
  2. Copy the EUEM_ER_gradient_gray.png file to the SAP BusinessObject Enterprise XI 4.0 installation folder\images\ folder.
  3. In a browser, enter the address of the SAP BusinessObjects Central Management Console (such as http://localhost:8080/BOE/CMC), and log on with the administrator credentials.
  4. In the Manage section, click Promotion Management.
  5. In the Promotion Jobs home page, click Import > Import file.
     The Import from file dialog box appears.
  6. Import the LCMBIAR file from your local computer, as follows:

    1. In the Import from file dialog box, select File System.
    2. Click Browse, select the EUEM_ER_BO.pkg.lcmbiar file from the file system, and click OK.
    3. In the New Job tab, select From File in the Source field.
    4. Click Browse near the Save Job in field, select Promotion Jobs, and click OK.
    5. From the Destination list, select Login to a New CMS. Confirm the logon credentials of the destination system.
    6. In the Login To System dialog box, enter the following values, and click Login:

      • System: Select the host name of the SAP BusinessObjects server.
      • User Name: Administrator
      • Password: Administrator Password
      • Authentication: Select Enterprise.

    The Destination value changes to the host name of the SAP BusinessObjects server.

  7. Click Create.
    The job is created.
  8. Select the ER-Full-release Promotion job and click Promote.
    The Promote - Job Name dialog box appears.
  9. Click Save and then Promote to promote the contents to the destination system.
  10. Close the Central Management Console.
