Connecting SAP BusinessObjects to the data warehouse
Perform the following steps to establish a connection between the data warehouse (Oracle instance) and SAP BusinessObjects.
- In the Oracle Client, select Configuration and Migration Tools > Net Manager.
- In Oracle Net Manager, click the plus ➕️ button to add a service.
- In the Net Service Name field of the Net Service Name Wizard, enter ERDW1, and click Next.
- Select the appropriate network protocol, such as TCP/IP, and click Next.
- Enter the VM name or DNS name in the Host Name field and port 1521 in the Port Number field.
- Click Next.
- In the Service Name field, enter the Oracle instance name that stores the Extended Reporting data, leave the Connection Type set to Database Default, and click Next.
- Click Test to test the connection.
- Click Change Login and enter the user name and password of the database user.
- Test the connection and then close the wizard.
