Configuring a TEA Agent post-installation

After you install the the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agents, you need to associate the agents with a specific Real User Analyzer or Real User Monitor.

The Analyzer retrieves data from a Real User Collector that you configure for synthetic transaction data. If you use several Collectors for high availability, the Analyzer can automatically and dynamically select a Collector. Alternatively, you can associate a specific Collector to feed data to the Analyzer.

Before you begin

Install the TEA Agent for synthetic monitoring.

To perform this procedure, you must have Administrator-level access, or higher.

To configure the TEA Agent policy

  1. In the BMC Application Management Console, on the Synthetic tab, click Agent Policy.
  2. From the Action menu, select Edit Agent Policy.
  3. Select an Analyzer from the list.
One of the following types automatically appears under the Analyzer list:
    • Real User Analyzer
    • Real User Monitor
  4. If the Analyzer Type is Real User Analyzer, select the way the Analyzer selects a Collector from which to retrieve data:
    • Automatic enables the Analyzer to retrieve data from one or more associated Collectors, according to availability.
    • Manual assigns a specific Collector to the Analyzer.
If you choose Manual, select a Collector from the list.
  5. Click Save.
