Creating a tenant for BMC Applicaton Diagnostics and associating a Diagnostics Portal

For each BMC Application Diagnostics tenant organization, you associate a BMC Application Diagnostics Portal where the tenant's data is stored. Each tenant organization is configured to one, and only one, Diagnostics Portal.

Before you begin

To configure a tenant for BMC Application Diagnostics

  1. On the BMC Application Management Console, click the System Access tab.
  2. From the menus, select Diagnostic Management > Tenant Configuration.
  3. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To add a new tenant configuration for BMC Application Diagnostics, from the Action menu, select Add Portal Tenant Association.
    • To edit a previously defined tenant, from the shortcut menu of the specific tenant, select Edit.
  4. For new tenant configuration: Select a tenant name from the list.

    Note

    • Only defined tenants (defined through the Tenant Management page) are listed.
    • If a tenant is already associated to a Diagnostics Portal, then the tenant does not appear in the list.
    • If a Real User Analyzer is associated with the tenant, the Analyzer host name or IP address is displayed (read-only).
  5. In the Portal Configuration panel, configure the following settings:
    • Select the communication protocol with the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal: HTTP or HTTPS.
The protocol must match the configuration of the Diagnostics Portal.
    • Enter the host name or IP address of the Diagnostics Portal.
    • Enter the Diagnostics Portal listening port. The default port is 8100 for HTTP, and 8143 for HTTPS.
  6. Click Save.

If the tenant configuration connects to the Diagnostics Portal, the status is displayed as OK on the Tenant Configuration page.

If the tenant cannot connect to the Diagnostics Portal, the status is displayed as ERROR. You can edit the configuration to change the settings.

To disassociate a Diagnostics Portal from a tenant

Each tenant organization is associated to one, and only one, Portal. If you want to change the tenant that is associated to a Portal, you must first disassociate the current configuration. To perform this procedure, you must have Administrator-level access, or higher.

  1. On the BMC Application Management Console, click the System Access tab.
  2. From the menus, select Diagnostic Management > Tenant Configuration.
  3. From the shortcut menu of the specific tenant, select Disassociate.
  4. To confirm that you want to delete the configuration, click OK.
