Managing tenant accounts and permissions


Multi-tenancy support enables service providers to offer application management capabilities to their customers as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering. Service providers can isolate data groups and control data visibility and permissions for each customer, called a tenant or tenant organization. To each tenant organization, you assign a specific tenant user, called an Access Manager.

Below is a summary of the step for enabling multiple tenants.

The Administrator or the Security user creates a tenant account (representing a tenant organization) and a tenant Access Manager user who manages access to the Application Management Console for tenant users.

The Administrator or the Security user creates a tenant Access Manager user who manages access to the Application Management Console for tenant users.

Tenant

The tenant Access Manager creates tenant user accounts (either manually or through LDAP), including Observers, Application Owners, and more Access Managers. The tenant Access Manager can also assign the tenant Access Manager role to another user.

Service provider

(BMC Application Diagnostics only) The Administrator or the Security user associates a tenant organization with a BMC Application Diagnostics Portal.

Tenant

Tenant users log on to their tenant instance of the SaaS version of the product.
