Synthetic transaction monitoring workflow

Carl is an IT Observer for PetRocks.com and he wants to check the performance when a user logs onto the website from a certain location. He needs to monitor the performance, availability, and accuracy in the most efficient and cost-effective manner of the web-based shopping cart application from different locations to ensure that the end-user experience meets the expectations of PetRocks.com users and according to the service-level agreement (SLA).

Carl receives an email with data about a breached SLA in his application. He needs to gather all the data and send an email to the application developer.

Carl also logs into the BMC Application Performance Management Console regularly, and he examines the dashlets created for him by the IT Administrator. He looks for problems on the Performance and Availability dashlets, and for problematic locations on the Global Application Delivery dashlet. He can drill down from the dashlets to the Performance Analysis page, and then to the list of sessions. He can also drill down to the Session Browser in the Real User Analyzer.
