BMC Application Performance Management as a Service system architecture
BMC Application Performance Management as a Service combines BMC End User Experience Management as a Service, BMC Application Diagnostics as a Service, and information delivered from the Akamai Intelligent Platform to provide end-to-end performance monitoring. Overview of tenant and provider architectures
The following table describes the functions of each component in the delivery of BMC Application Performance Management as a Service.

Collection devices | Leverages a passive data tap on the web application delivery network. The data tap can be configured as a span, mirror or any other packet replication device or protocol that enables the traffic to be monitored. The illustration in this topic depicts the Real User Cloud Probe as the client collector, but you could also use the Real User Monitor. BMC Application Diagnostics Agent | Resides on the Java or .NET application web server. The BMC Application Diagnostic Agent monitors and collects information about each web application. | Tenant |

BMC Application Diagnostics Server | Communicates with the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent in the tenant environment, stores information acquired by the BMC Application Diagnostics Agent, and processes the BMC Application Diagnostics functions. This component comprises the BMC Application Diagnostics Collector and the BMC Application Diagnostics Portal. | Provider |
Real User Collector | Receives the data feed from Akamai Edge Connect and Collection devices. | Provider |
